this was after the dragon. i was exhausted and welcomed the downhill. just after i took this picture i looked behind me and found out that i had just climbed a 9% grade for about a mile or so. i walked most of it.

highway 74. interstate speeds. 3 feet of shoulder, one foot of drunk bumps, six inches away from the white line. that leaves about 1.5 feet or less of ridable shoulder. not cool.

    Didnt get past the third picture. I stared at myself in a daze for at least 45 minutes, then my alarm went off, and I had to go to work.

    I have been really astonished by your preparation work - penny stove, racks, and packs. Whoa dude! You and Josh with all your buddies always made, created, and did some interesting things, your creative designs and curiosity never ceases to amaze me. The Lord created some beautiful spots on this earth, and North Carolina is one of my most favorite. Thanks for posting the pictures and updates Matthew.
