Asheville to Virginia Beach

Tuesday, July 8

Had I not been told that it was okay, I’m not really sure that I would have crossed that fence and biked that road.

7-8-02.jpg

This was a wider part of the road, but you can get a view of some rough spots. Not nearly the worst part.

7-8-03.jpg

Narrow part of the road. Looks like this thing has been closed off for a while.

Just as the rain started

During a break in the rain. It was really pretty.

Dang! Home of NASCAR champion Dale Jarrett! Now I’m excited.

this was crazy. this creek ran for a while on both sides of the road. it looked like turf, like you could just run out onto it. must be some kind of algae. I threw a stick in, the algae parted briefly but quickly covered up any trace of the penetration
